Jared Faris to Give Keynote Session at Code PaLOUsa 2016

Louisville, KY and Columbus, OH (March 23, 2016) — HMB’s Director of Technology Services Jared Faris will be one of two keynote speakers at Code PaLOUsa, a multi-day software development conference in Louisville, Kentucky. From March 28 through March 30, the conference aims to cover all aspects of software development, regardless of the technology stack and/or preference. Presentation topics range from specific coding programs and languages, management and leadership techniques, and the rise of the Internet of Things.

Faris, who is responsible for organization and implementation of other developer conferences such as Stir Trek or Cloud Develop, will give his keynote address on Wednesday, March 30th during the Code PaLOUsa event. A Microsoft MVP, Faris will give a behind the scenes look at why developers at the managerial level do what they do, in the aptly titled session, Why Is My Boss So Dumb? The session will set out to help developers understand the duties and responsibilities of a manager such as budgets, strategic priorities, team dynamics, political capital, and more. Faris will discuss why these, and other decisions and responsibilities contribute to better outcomes for developers.

Faris will share the stage with Philip Japiske, Principal Consultant/Architect with Strategic Data Systems. Japiske, also a Microsoft MVP, brings over 30 years of software development to the event, and will give his keynote address titled, Effective Leadership the day prior to Faris on Tuesday, March 29th. Japiske aims to communicate the journey of leadership, recounting his experiences of hard-work, practice, and an understanding of team members.

This is year six for Code PaLOUsa, originally conceptualized by President and Conference Chair, Chad Green. Green works as both Service Delivery and Software Development Manager at HP Enterprises. Green attributes most of his knowledge of new technologies and development practices by attending user groups and software development events throughout the country. Code PaLOUsa was born out of that mentality with Green kicking off the first event in 2011. Green also organizes the Louisville .NET Meetup where he facilitates monthly meetings for .NET developers in the Louisville community.

HMB's Java Practice Director Todd Nussbaum will also speak at Code PaLOUsa on Wednesday, March 30th. Todd will discuss two ways Node.js can be merged with JVM (Avatar.js and Nodyn) in his session, Hello Node! Welcome to the JVM! The session will explore examples on each implementation, look at how each one works internally, and what the plans are for each in the future.

Code PaLOUsa will be held at the Paroquet Springs Conference Centre in the Louisville, Kentucky area on March 28 – 30, 2016.More information and registration details, here.
